Peace, elegance and romance in this bourgeois house from the beginning of the 20th century, nestled in the heart of the old fishing village of Gruissan, near the medieval tower of Barberousse, not far from the Cathar castles: 2 air-conditioned, comfortable guest rooms and spacious.

Our bed and breakfast is located in a quiet area of the old village of Gruissan, at the foot of the pond, 5 minutes by bike from the beach of chalets immortalized by the film by Jean-Jacques Beineix " 37 ° 2 le matin" .
Alcôve Marine is an ideal base for exploring the exceptional wild landscapes that surround it. Hikers and mountain bikers can explore the Clape massif, a haven of peace.
Our bed and breakfast House offers you the opportunity to do everything on foot, and thus participate in various and varied cultural and sporting activities: Water sports of all kinds to fully enjoy the Mediterranean Sea, Family outings to discover the fauna and observe the birds, lazing on the beach, evening entertainment in the bars and restaurants of the port.
A little history from the past...
Old-timers tell how Gruissan used to suffer from a lack of drinking water, and the only freshwater available to the people of Gruissan was from the spring on the Ile Saint Martin, which had a limited flow and was much abused. This "Fount" (Fountain) was only accessible via a ford that horses, donkeys and mules crossed when possible.
The history of our bed and breakfast became interesting in 1806 when three local residents got together to build a footbridge across the pond to the spring on the Ile Saint Martin.
This footbridge had its entrance in the house of one of them: NOTRE MAISON DHÔTES.
The owners demanded an ironing fee of 2 francs per house. This fee was collected in our guest room.
Old photos and postcards show that our beautiful house was the first house closest to the famous "yellow bridge"...

Hearty breakfast served from 8am to 10am.

Magnificent house. The "Lo Cerç" room is very spacious, with refined decoration. The very pleasant adjoining outdoor terrace. The bedding is excellent, we hear no outside noise, the breakfast is very rich, including homemade jams and brioches! Very warm welcome.
